This series is based on my favorite book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin. It is a series of epic fantasy novels containing a myriad of characters, political intrigue, fantastic battles, magic, and, of course, dragons. The first book is titled A Game of Thrones, which is also the name of the TV series on HBO that is based on these novels. This geocache series will highlight the characters from the series.
Robert Baratheon was a young soldier who, with the help of his close friend, Eddard Stark, led a revolt against “Mad” King Aerys II and took the throne. He was a brilliant soldier and general, but his wisdom did not extend to ruling a kingdom. He married Cersei Lannister to ensure Lannister support, and had three children with her. Their marriage was an unhappy one, and Cersei and Robert barely tolerated each other. After gaining the kingdom, Robert wiled away his days hunting and feasting, plunging his kingdom into debt and disarray. After his closest advisor was killed, he entreated his close friend, Eddard, to return to King’s Landing with him and assume the role of the King’s Hand, second only to the king.
Robert Baratheon loved to feast, so this spot seemed ideal for this cache. I always think of the irresistible chocolate fountain when this restaurant comes to mind. This cache is a medium container with lots of kid's swag and should be a pretty easy find. Please be stealthy.
