islander1988: I dropped by this evening to replace this cache. However, I decided the location, while somewhat interesting being a semi-abandoned football (soccer) court, really isn't a very good place to bring geocachers to. So I have decided to archive this cache instead.

Geocache Description:

A cache within easy walking distance from Arsenalna metro station.

It's interesting how in a large urban city like Kyiv, with modern high rises and millions of people, you can find places from the past that are still used but apparently no longer maintained.

The cache is at a small football (or soccer to North Americans) field area not far from Arsenalna metro station. The surface is not grass and the fence could use work in places, but depending on when you arrive, it's possible you might find people using it. Not too far down the path further is a large field with more facilities where you're likely to see people taking advantage of the space to practice and stay fit.

The cache is a magnetic micro on top of a piece of metal frame resting against a tree by some cement pillars. You will need to bring your own pencil.

Precaution: being a relative natural area you might come across stray dogs, especially in the early morning, so be aware of this when attempting this geocache. Also, on one maintenance vsiit I found a discarded needle in the area, and a log by another cacher indicated he also saw signs of drug use, so if you attempt this cache please be aware of this, look where you're putting your feet, and be sure you can see where you are putting your hands.
