Geocache Description:

The Forest of Secrets series is dedicated to the trails in the Tongass National Forest. When I hike a trail I see a magical new place that melts away the stresses of everyday life. It amazes me that so much can co-exist among each other. I would love to hear your perceptions of the forest while you are searching for this geocache. What did you hear and see on your adventure?

This cache has been placed along the Coast Guard Beach Trail. The trail head is located by the North Point Higgins Elementry School. At the beginning of this trail you will notice that in the recent past there was a forest fire that threatened the trail and the school. I would love for people to post pictures throughout the years of the damaged area so we can watch it regrow.
