Copley Wood Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Bald Rover: Not so long ago I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in the knees which did stop me getting out. With physio things have improved and I am now mobile. However, as the arthritis is likely to get progressively worse I have decided to bring in my most remote caches while I still can.

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed to compliment my other caches in the immediate area and to make it more worth while for cachers to visit them. The area where the cache is hidden is surrounded by trees so the co-ordinates might not be pinpoint. I took several readings and I hope the co-ordinates given are the most accurate.

There is evidence of Romano-British occupation in Copley Wood - Bush, Robin (1994). Somerset: The complete guide. Wimborne: The Dovecote Press Ltd. p. 128. ISBN 1-874336-26-1.

Access to this cache can be made from several directions on the many footpath leading to the area. The main footpath being the Polden Way. However, the parking waypoint given is for access via Hurcot Hill. The cache has been placed adjacent to the public footpath that routes through Copley Woods. The container is a small cliplock and will hold small TB and Geocoins. Follow the footpath to the summit of the hill where you will find a stile giving access into the woods. Keep dogs on a lead as it is a requirement of the area you pass through. Other caches in the area are GC27GQX, GC21B0F, GC3BC9N and GC51DBR.
