ARCHEOLOGY NEAR STRINGFIELD RANCH
The Kaiser Ranch Site, near Bridle Path Road, was surveyed in 1977 in preparation for Yavapai County Public Works’ construction. Archeologists found a large prehistoric pit house hearth, or roasting pit. This site is close to the Stringfield Ranch Survey site, where no finds were recorded. Excavations near Sundown Road uncovered over 27,000 shards. Excavations at American Ranch unearthed burial sites and an extensive pit house village.
