The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd & odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.
THE BUCHANAN FAMILY In the 1950s, George and Julia Buchanan owned and operated the Buchanan Egg Company on the Sundown Ranch with their sons James (Jim) and George (Buck). Buck remembers the ranch: “What an experience it was! I bought my first $80 deer rifle and later a $200 1949 Mercury by working at shoveling chicken manure for 25¢ an hour!” Buck Buchanan, was Yavapai County’s longest serving sheriff (from 1989 to 2005).
