Geocache Description:

The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd; odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.

WILLIAMSON VALLEY PREHISTORY The “Prescott Culture” (600–1400 AD) of the Williamson Valley area included Yuman-speaking descendants of the archaic Hokan who traveled down the Pacific Coast region and east to the Colorado River regions. Evidence, like the grinding tools indicates natives migrated along three separate routes: northwest to Mount Hope and into Big Chino Wash, along Walnut Creek to Hell Canyon and the Verde River, and across Hyde Mountain into Mint Wash and Granite Creek.
