Have you ever been in a cemetery and wondered who these people were? Did you have any idea how many people who made national news are here? Do you know the names of some of the people who transformed your community? This is your chance to find out!!
Forest Lawn is one of eight city owned cemeteries in Norfolk. It is the largest and most modern of all the Norfolk cemeteries.
After installing the Wherigo cartiridge, you will see the oldest graves in the cemetery, people of local and national importance, and a couple of memorials. Don't know how to use a Wherigo....check out the Hermitage Garden tour. The Hermitage Gardens Walking Tour You will get to visit close to a dozen places where you will collect an item from each person. After collecting an item from each zone, you will get the coordinates to the cache.
When caching please be minding that the cemetery is closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This is also still an active cemetery, so be respectful of any nearby muggles. This cache was placed with the permission of and assistance from the Norfolk Society for Cemetery Conservation.
A special "thank you" to +1 of Prytz+1 for answering programming questions for the wherigo. An extra special "Thank you" to Ms. Nelson at the Norfolk Society for Cemetery Conservation who was always very helpful with any questions I had! FTF honors go to Lacey1961!!
The most recent Wherigo update on Android deleted the maps. If you want them back, go to the play store and download, Locus Free. It is a free app and will restore maps in the Wherigo app.
***For some reason, the final coordinates do not want to display when be played on a GPSr. If you have a phone, it works fine. If you cannot run it on a phone, when you get to the final location, let your geosenses take over. You are VERY close to the final.***
