This cache is sited near to one of the larger flocks of Portland sheep in the country albeit that in commercial terms it is very small.
The Portland is a rare breed , originating from the Isle of Portland in Dorset and according to folk law, they swam ashore from a shipwreck in the Armada. Its meat has long been considered 'as fine flavoured as any in the kingdom'.
It is a tan faced, horned, breed which tends to produce a single lamb but it can do so in any season . The lambs are are reddy brown clour.
Please do not remove the stamp which should be left in the cache for the next finder.
Congratulations to IBsearching for his second FTF of the day .
