Geocache Description:

April 19th 2014
10:00 am to 11:00 am
Centennial Park, Burnaby Mountain
N49 16.960 W122 56.070

This event will mark the 100th anniversary to the hour one of Vancouver's most infamous characters arrived in town. The minute he stepped off the ship, Vancouver's destiny was changed forever.  Who was this person? It's definitely not someone you'd find in newspapers or history books.

Curious?

Join Scruffy for a Treasure Hunting Meet & Greet.  Gather with other cachers and share geocaching stories with old friends. The event will culminate with a short history lesson.

We'll explore Vancouver 's history from the Great War to the Prohibition Era.
Learn about the life and times of Vancouver's most influential people and the fortunes in treasure rumored to be left behind in caves, caverns and long abandoned structures all around Vancouver.

For those who are interested,  this will also be the beginning of a great treasure hunt.  It's rumored that a priceless Golden Skunk was hidden long ago somewhere in the Lower Mainland.  Those in attendance will get a sneak peek and a head start on a new geocaching series dedicated to this most  illusive treasure.

Hope to see you there!!!
