A linear series of easy caches dotted along the side of the Chesterfield canal from Hollingwood to Brimington . These caches are placed in such places that you will be hard pressed to get away with doing them without having to deploy great stealth . Walkers , Cyclists , Doggles , Joggles , Fishermen , kids the lot along here , and at almost every part of the day . They are mostly placed very close to the side of the canal side path , with the exception of 2 or 3 . Gloves would be of good use in places too . Logbook only in all of the caches , so BYOP please . This one is so called because on many of the times i have ridden this part of the canal path , i have nearly always seen the resident heron stood in the water around here . Keep your eye out for him and mention if you see it in your logs , and even include pic if you wish . It normally stands at the far side of the canal in the reed bed on the bend . These caches have been placed with the kind permission of Derbyshire County Council , many thanks to them for me allowing to do so .
