Initially when I begun geocaching, I was surprised when I learned that there was no geocache at such a beautiful location. Fort King George is an area that reflects the game of 'musical chairs' which was played between the European Colonial powers of France, Holland, Spain and the British. At the fort, there are numerous cannons, from all colonial powers, as well as a mortar (which was my personal favourite as a child during trips to the fort !) You can also go and have a look at the bathouse (really the old ammunition store). Be sure to take a trip into the museum, admittance is remarkably a bargain of only two Trinidad Dollars ! Another activity that you could do if you have a lot more time, is to go to the area surrounding the ammunition store, and to look in the hills for peices of pottery that belonged to the soldiers, whether it be from plates, or more realistically their gambling chips! As a child a personal favourite, was at birthday parties at the fort to look for musket balls, its still a possibility to find these, however its rare as in the mid 2000s we probbably were successful in making them extinct from the fort ! Even better would be to bring a spade and a metal detector, although make sure the security guards dont see you !
You are looking for a small plastic jar, it is wrapped in a black plastic bag, which my mother sealed for some reason with a peice of tape in order to water proof it, please take the peice of tape off neatly ! There is a trackable in there which I would like the FTF to move, also to sort of give it away, you are going down the hill to look for it !
Happy hunting, I hope you all enjoy your stay in Tobago as it is a beautiful island rich in history, I have put a lot of effort into this cache, and I sincerily hope that you all appreciate it !
