DPC-08 Deer Prairie Creek Traditional Cache
SeaBreezin: I am Archiving this series as I no longer have time to maintain them properly and that's not fair to the cachers. Also, most of these have not been found for a year or so. Hopefully a CO with more time can put another cache run in Deer Prairie Creek.

Deer Prairie Creek Preserve was jointly acquired by the Southwest Florida Water Management District and Sarasota County and lies between I-75 and US 41. The Schewe Tract, which lies both north and south of I-75, is managed by the District. The property was acquired to protect the floodplain of the Myaka River and the water quality of the water sources within the region.
There are two entrances to Deer Prairie Creek Preserve. One is from Rte. 41 Tamiami Trail in North Port, the other is at the end of Forbes Trail and can be reached by exiting to the north from I-75 at Exit 193, following Jacaranda Boulevard to the north to Border Road, proceeding east on Border Road to South Moon Drive, proceeding south on South Moon Drive until it intersects Forbes Trail and proceeding east on Forbes Trail.
The appropriate entrance for this cache run is the Tamiami Trail entrance. To start this run you will need to cross a narrow section of the river.
The Cache Rating System was used to provide the Difficulty and Terrain Rating. The ratings may be different as you move along the trail.
