These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
WHAT: World Wide Flash Mob XI
A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time. Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher podcast came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time!
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
Our unusual activity? Everyone wear an unusual, funny, or weird hat. There is no official theme this year.
WHEN: Saturday, June 7, 2014, 1:00 pm - 1:15pm
This Flash Mob is gathering of geocachers that will be only 15 minutes long and will be happening the same time and date all over the world. Even Australia being 17 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight Savings Time will be holding their event simultaneously with the US event at 03:00 on Sunday morning for the fun of joining in with the worldwide geocaching family. You MUST be present DURING this time to claim this event because after 15 minutes…we're gone
WHERE: Lakeview Park, Lorain, OH At the fountain.
There are some nearby picnic pavilions in the event of rain we will meet at one of these.
WHY: To have fun with your fellow geocachers, trade stories, possibly win a WWFM XI Geocoin, get a WWFM XI collectible item, etc.
Last year WWFM had participants in 558 events in 42 countires by 25, 125!

EVENT DETAILS
Event plan: (Only 15 minutes long!)
Until 1:00 PM : Get here early. Stay not far from, though not right at the posted coords, somewhere you can see GZ, and act like a muggle.
1:00 PM : Enjoy the fun spirit of the WWFM! Gather up quickly at the posted coords! Sign log sheet(optional), trade trackables and swap stories.
1:10 PM : Raffle time!!! You might win Official Commemorative WWFM XI Geocoin
1:13 PM : PHOTO time! Gather for group photo.
1:15 PM : Split up! Leave without a trace.
Event Notes:
Earn a WWFM XI Souvenir! *Be sure to submit your "attended" log within 2 weeks of the event, in order to receive a special Geocaching.com WWFM XI SOUVENIR*
There will be a basket for Travel Bug exchange.
Plenty of nearby parking
There are nearby (on site) covered picnic shelters in the event of rain.
After the event is over, plan to meet up with other geocachers later to spend a fun day caching! If you haven't been in this area before, there are quite a few caches in the near vicinity and many more within a few mile radius. Have fun!
We will have a number of WWFM XI Collectible items available to share with those attending. We ask that you be courteous and only ask for/take one (1) so that others may have the chance to receive one as well. Hope to see you all there!
