EN: Daugiridiskes is an old village, established in the XVI century with it’s palace, which was owned by R. Daugirdas since 1545. That’s how village got the name “Daugirdiskes”. The palace had several transformations – in XIX century it became the factory of alcohol and it was finally robbed and destroyed by locals from 1924.
Now the island has connection with the mainland and one can access it by foot, bike or tractor only. On the way to the cache people can see ruins of the palace and other buildings around and even have a swim in the lake next to the cache location. Coordinates might need to some adjustment, so feel free to suggest more accurate ones.
LT: Daugirdiškės pirmiausia paminėtos 1545 metais, kaimo dvarą perdavus R. Daugirdui. Nuo to ir kilo kaimo pavadinimas. Dvaras saloje buvo nuolat perstatomas ir plečiamas. XIX amžiuje dvare buvo įsteigta spirito gamykla, o nuo 1924 metų pradėtas grobstyti. Dabar like tik griuvėsiai su sienomis ir medžiais dvaro viduje.
Sala yra sujungta su pakrante ir į ją galima patekti pėsčiomis ar dviračiu. Pakeliui lobio ieškotojai gali apžiūrėti dvaro ir kitų pastatų griūvėsius bei netgi išsimaudyti vasarą ežere netoli paslėpto lobio vietos.
