Geocache Description:

The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd & odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.

SHARP FAMLY Henry (1904–1966) and Dora (1898–1994) Sharp, friends of Alice and Sam Pemberton, moved to the Joyces’ ranch, near Mint Creek, in 1937, where they established the Sharp Ranch. Sam’s son Henry married Dora Sharp’s sister Rosie and also lived at the Joyce ranch. Tucker and his wife, Dana (Brisendine), helped Tucker’s mother, Dora, run the Sharps’ ranch after his father, Henry Sharp, died in 1966. Dana is a local historian. Her father, Everett, was known for his poetry writings and recitations. Arcadia Publication's, Williamson Valley Road CAMP MEETINGS From the 1940s to the 1960s, annual Prescott Cowboy Camp Meetings were held on the Bob Perkins Ranch, near Outer Loop Road, under the auspices of the Methodist Church. Visitors would sing hymns, listen to visiting preachers, and enjoy a potluck and a barbecue. Campers continued their camaraderie around campfires before heading home after three rejuvenating days.
