Maniatutu Road is often used as a bypass road whenever there is a major accident on the State Hwy 33 road. There has been much work done on this road over the last few years, and has now only about 8km of gravel road left. However…the road is narrow in places and is used by some larger vehicles, ie: logging, stock & milk trucks, so caution when driving this road is advised. Stock is often driven along this road between farms and is also a bus route, so caution is advised here as well.
You will however enjoy seeing some farm land you haven’t seen before if you haven’t travelled this route before. I do apologize in advance if the gravel section of this road is a bit rough, grader isn’t over it very often.
This Cache used to be a nano but now sits in something Paul Hogan would wrestle with.
