Geocache Description:

The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd; odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.

HILDRETH FAMILY Fen S. Hildreth (1877–1938), a former Rough Rider, married Stella Martin in 1900. Hildreth, a well-regarded land law attorney, served as register of the Arizona Land Office until 1908. In 1917, his ranch was the first in Yavapai County to use a Monarch Caterpillar tractor. The public was invited to watch as 500 acres were plowed for crops. Orville Bozarth worked the ranch until it was sold in 1922. DRAPER FAMILY Edward Draper (1848–1916) established the D-I Ranch near Williamson Valley in the 1880s. He and his wife, Mary, had two children, Joyce and Frank Foster. May was the daughter of Walnut Creek resident Hiram Martin as well as sister to Johnny Bozarth’s wife, Nevada California, and William Denny’s wife, Annie.
