How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Ever wonder what the concrete monstrosity in Pensacola Bay is? Or why multi-million-dollar homes are perched on what looks like landfill on the edge of the bay?

This is an educational cache, but due to the presence of a container and focus on history instead of geoscience, doesn't qualify as an EarthCache.

If this cache proves popular, others at sites of historical significance may be placed at later dates.

Small black box: slightly smaller, but thicker, than a standard DVD case. Above the high-water mark.

Contains short history of Muscogee Wharf and what the concrete monstrosity in Pensacola Bay is.

Pencil included in box. Please do not remove.

Cache contents are kid-friendly and the cache itself is fairly easily accessible, however, close adult supervision is highly recommended: access requires traversing rocks along the breakwater, and all dangers associated with such activity (falls, twists, cuts, etc.)

Parking is available at the Veterans Memorial Park.
