
This wherigo is designed to take you on a short tour of Waterford Oaks County Park. You will need to visit 7 areas of interest in the park. There is much more in the park, but you can explore those on your own if you are interested. You can visit the areas in any order. Be sure to complete each are before moving on to the next area (All you have to do is click "OK"). Once you have visited all 7 areas, you will be given the coordinates for the final. Waterford Oaks is a 185-acre park near Pontiac, headquarters of the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission, ACTION is the name of the game at Waterford Oaks: More than four miles of hiking trails, including 1.5 miles paved trails. Geocaching available! Waterford Oaks Waterpark features a wave-action pool, group raft ride, dual-flume waterslide and interactive water playground Bicycle motocross track is open from early May through September, with practices Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bike and helmet rentals are available, and clinics are offered throughout the season. NBL sanctioned racing on Saturdays. Paradise Peninsula Playscape is a universally-accessible playground that invites children and adults to explore and play. Sand volleyball and outdoor fitness equipment Platform Tennis is Played October through April on two lighted courts. The platform surface is heated to remove ice and snow. Activity Center classes including ballroom dancing, aerobics and more Banquet facility accommodates 200 and features an open floor plan with adjacent bar area and space for dancing. Select audio-visual equipment available. Picnic shelters and Lookout Lodge available for group rentals The Family Sledding Hill at Waterford Oaks will be open daily from dawn to dusk or as posted at the gate. There is no charge to use the hill. The Fridge, Michigan’s first refrigerated toboggan run, will remain closed for the 2010-2011 season. The 16-year-old structure needs extensive cost-prohibitive repairs. Oakland County Parks and Recreation staff will consider possible repurposing of The Fridge in the Waterford Oaks County Park Master Plan.
