Grinstead Park features a large fort-style playground under huge shade sails with swings, slides and various other activities for kids of all ages. Standing balance swings, a large lay-down swing and 'stomp on' sound tiles add to the attraction of this impressively sized playground. Additional to the playground is a basketball half court and also a fitness area featuring a circuit. A short distance across the grassy area behind the park will connect you to The Kedron Brook Bikeway. The park features BBQ facilities, two shelters, several park benches and is close to a skate park for older children. It has toilet facilities and a generous off-street car park for convenience.
There is a water course right next to this playground which isn’t obvious to kids except for the small bridge that connects the playground area to grassy fields, with small pockets of regenerated bush land. Insect repellant is a must after periods of heavy rain.
But enough of the creative plagiarism, on to the cache.
The geocache is located not far from the path leading from the car park so minimal disturbance to the local flora is required. The park is a high traffic area at most times of the day so a lot of stealth is required. It should be fairly easy to spot the hide for the seasoned geocacher, but discrete retrieval will pose a definite challenge. Perhaps make a late afternoon or evening nab or have a friend create a diversion at the lower end of the park.
