I want to thank the Boys Scouts of the Laurel Hills District, Westmoreland-Fayette Council. They replaced all the support posts of the plaques, then redeployed the 2 plaques that were in storage.
The start point is not the listed coordinates. You should start here. N 40 21.287 W 079 37.256
At Way Point N 40 21.287 W 079 37.256 there is the first of five in a series historical plaques. They are all within a 50 yard space. They go in a bent V, East to West, or if you prefer right to left. You must visit all of the plaques to get the right coordinates. Also the cache is on the other side [North] of Pa. State Route 993. Be careful crossing the road. Once you cross Rt. #993 you will be briefly on what was known as the Forbes Road. Forbes Road was cut through the wilderness in 1758 by a British Military Force under the command of Gen. Forbes and Col Henry Bouquet. It was maintained and added on to until 1770s. That’s why these markers where put here. If you wanted to go from Eastern Pa . {Philadelphia, York, Carlisle, Bedford} too Fort Pitt or later Pittsburgh before 1820. You most likely you came down this road.
The cache coordinates are N 40*21.ABC W 079*37.XYZ
