Geocache Description:

IMPORTANT NOTE: To all future Geocachers that attempt this Multi-Cache: Please use the current cache instructions that were posted on May 6th with the corrections. Do not under any circumstances us any other previous cache instructions. Use only what is currently posted. This is a Multi-Cache with either a puzzle and/or calculations that need to be completed. This will allow you to progress from Waypoint to Waypoint & move to the final cache location. This cache was actually placed on March 30, 2002. It was not posted until 4/30/02 due to a repaving project in the area.

Park at: N33 20.509 & W116 54.084 Access to the parking area will require a Day Use Fee of $2-4.00 for one vehicle. Please do not park in any camping spots unless you have reservations. Start from here. Water & hiking boots recommended.

Assumptions:
1. All Longitude & Latitude are Degrees, Minutes & Seconds: Example: N33 20.509 & W116 54.084
2. All calculations or answers to puzzles will be for last three digits of Minutes
3. All Degrees are considered to be N33 & W116

Waypoint #1: The West coordinate is W116 54.110. Solve for North N33 20._ _ _ (West Coordinate Minutes - 7. 095) - (number of letters in the pond name x 5) - (1.347) = ? Go to these coordinates & find the number on the Wooden Post. This number is required for future waypoints.

Waypoint #2: Using the North Coordinates in Minutes calculated from Waypoint #1, multiply this by the number on the Wooden Post & divide by 12, then add ((3 x 3) + .404) for the West Coordinates in Minutes. The North Coordinates are: N33 20.691

Waypoint #3: At the entrance to a members club stands a stranger seeking admission. A friend told him that it's easy to get in. You just have to answer a question correctly! Answering wrong, however, will result in being shot!
To live a little longer, the man waits in a back alley near the entrance for people to go in. After a while a man comes to the entrance. The door warden asks him: 'Twelve?' to which he replies 'Six!' and the man goes in. 'That's easy.' our friend thinks, but he waits a little longer.
Another man comes to the door. 'Six?' the door warden asks, to which he replies 'Three!' and goes in. 'That's too good to be true' our friend thinks, and he was right. Because, when asked 'Four?', at the door, he answered 'Two!' and was later found dead in the alley.

What was the correct answer?

Answer: 5 Go To: N33 20.963 & W116 54.752
Answer: 4 Go To: N33 20.931 & W116 54.427
Answer: 1 Go To: N33 20.840 & W116 54.339

Waypoint #4 (The Cache): Take the calculated coordinates from Waypoint #3 and add .009 to the West Coordinate, & add .029 to the North Coordinate. Estimated position error was approximately 15 Ft., when calculated. Elevation was near 4,600 Ft. Lots of goodies in this cache. Enjoy the day in this beautiful area.
