For a less strenuous hike, start from Sunshine St, above Verdugo Park, Glendale. Trail begins at gate where Los Flores fire road leads up towards Verdugo Motorway. Make sure you read all parking signs as there is restricted parking. You will need to park a ways down and walk to the start of the fire road.
For a more challenging hike, go to Brand Park where you can either take the trailhead that begins with the Nature Trail, or the one south of there. It is a steep walk, but hang in there because the views are awesome. You can pick-up several other geocaches along the way.
I hid this cache to commemorate my crazy Easter Day hike. You are NOT looking for a very large cache, but I thought this was a great place to stop and catch my breath before continuing on my way via the Verdugo Motorway. Make sure you BYOP. There is a kidactor collectible pathtag for the FTF :)
Caution: numerous hazards can be encountered whilst hiking in the Verdugos—ticks, snakes, coyotes, beehives, poison-oak, even mountain lions. Please take adequate precautions, including sunscreen and plenty of water.
