Geocache Description:

Ammo box on a narrow ridge just off the Hogback biking trail; a side trail from the Cloudland Connector Trail.

This ammo box is along a mountain biking trail accessed from the main Cloudland Connector Trail.  Park at Ascalon Trailhead (waypoint provided).  There is a $5 daily entrance fee, unless you are a member of the Friends of Georgia State Parks! :)

Set out on the Cloudland Connector Trail.  Take the first right onto a biking/hiking trail referred to on some maps as South Hogback Trail.  Follow this trail until within 60' of the cache.  At this point the trail continues nearly level, but you get to climb/bushwack up a narrow ridge to Hogback Hill, where the ammo box (with geocaching logo stenciled on it, as per state park guidelines) is waiting for you!

Placed with permission of the park manager and park naturalist. Please take care to understand the basic rules of geocaching in order to help keep the game enjoyable for all who participate. Please do not move or vandalize the container. Replace the cache like or better than you found it (exactly where you found it).  Sign the log book and leave it in the cache. If you want to take any of other items in the cache, they are there for trade; be sure to leave something of equal or greater value, but don't leave any kind of food items, or anything that is highly aromatic, which could attract critters/creatures/rodents/bugs!

You may encounter trackable items in this cache container.  All trackables will have a unique six-character code of letters and/or numbers stamped on them.  If you take a trackable, please remember to log it on www.geocaching.com.  The purpose of trackables are generally to move from cache to cache; some may have specific "missions", which you may find on the trackable's page when you log it.  For more information on trackables, including how to correctly log them, please visit www.geocaching.com/track.

Enjoy your visit at the park and remember to re-hide the cache like or better than you found it and  "Leave No Trace."   While visiting any Georgia State Park, please obey all park rules and remain on the marked trails as you make your way to find the geocaches!
