Geocache Description:

Jackson County Heritage Trail
Cache #1
Got Ether?

Permission given by Vicki Starnes, Director

On March 30, 1842, a young Jefferson doctor used ether to remove a tumor from a young man’s neck. The man felt no pain and had no after affects from the anesthetic. Dr. Crawford Long’s Jefferson office is now the site of the museum that bears his name. It is the “birthplace of anesthesia.”

come one come all, this may well be our favorite caches of any we've ever placed..
This guy contains a very unique field puzzle. There are special tools required to secure the log and necessary stickers, but everything has been provided for you. You'll need a little bit of patience and hopefully some humor to get through this one. Nothing too difficult, but hopefully the little ones will have fun. Be sure to bring your camera!
