Geocache Description:

Here is the next set of caches along the South County Trail. Trying to continue on with H2"O"s great work on the North County Trail.

The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011.  Most sections of the trailway are paved.  This was once the part of the New York Central Railroad system.

Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.

The cache is a camoed micro container.  The cache is accessible from the paved trailway, almost.
Everytime I run thru this section of the trail, it always reminds me of the scene in The Lord of the Rings when the enter the dwarf's Great Hall of Moria.  Sorry, no Balrog protecting the cache.  Maybe some deer or turkeys.

Parking is available at the posted coordinates.
There is also trail access from the North, but parking nearby is restricted.
