Geocache Description:

Located in the Roaring Fork Valley up a not so popular Woody Creek Trail. The destination reveals unique views of the area.

This cache is a grind on foot, Jeep, horse, moto makes for a quicker find. As of Spring 03 the road is in as good a shape as it gets. The forest service re graded which was welcomed however a still a steep and chalenging 4wd road. If you hike, plan for a good half day round trip. There is a nice campsite at the overlook destination.

The halfway point is Triangle Peak where there is a fine panorama of the upper Roaring Fork Valley and all four local ski mountains. Triangle Peak the halfway point is 2.42 miles from the turn off.

The final .25 of trail to the Cache starts 1.44 miles from Triangle fork. You actually pass the cache site on the left while making your way to the last trail that switchbacks to the left off the old road at waypoint (N39.19.700 / W106.55.007 ) This stretch commonly has herd’s elk grazing. It is easy to be surprised and surprise them.

Once on bluff you can see the Snowmass Canyon, Mt Sopris and towns to the west. Enjoy the “progress”

Contents are monetary rewards for each mile hiked. The world famous Red Onion bar in its entirety (in miniature). Flying dog coaster for cacher brought beer. Misc. surprises The cache site is visible from hwy 82.
