Gray Fox Multi-Cache

This interesting section of county land along the river seemed perfect for a geocache. While scouting the location I happened to look down the hill and saw a little gray fox trotting among the boulders.

Parking: one or 2 pull-outs near the starting coordinates (by the benchmark). You won't be here long, this is a very compact multicache.

Stage 1

The published coordinates will take you to a benchmark (which you can also log on geocaching.com). There is a 4-digit year stamped on the top.

A = first digit of year
B = second digit of year
C = third digit of year
D = fourth digit of year

Substitute the above values into the following to get to Stage 2:

W 121 15.03C

Stage 2:

From here you can look across the river and see more county land. Look for a match holder wired into a Juniper tree to find the coordinates to the final cache.

Stage 3:

The final stage and the location of the cache is on top of a basalt "island”, surrounded by crevasses. You are looking for a small lock-and-lock container.
