This event is for everyone - whether you've been to umpteen events previosly and have found thousands of caches or if this is your first Geocaching event and can count your number of finds on one hand - you'll be most welcome to join us in what I hope will be a great social evening to chat about Geocaching ... and anything else probably!
The event will start at 6.00 p.m. and go on as long as anyone wants it to or to closing time, whichever arrives first. The bar is family friendly until 9pm when children are no longer allowed. The time has also been arranged to allow for some local caching for those wishing to do so while there is still daylight.
I have arranged for us to have our own area which is off-set from the rest of the pub/restaurant area - this will comfortably seat around 35 people but if there are more of us we can overflow into the main bar.
A menu is available to see here. The Chicken curry can also be ordered without the chicken as a vegetarian dish however if you get in touch with me in the next day or so, other options may be available on request if you feel you're not being catered for with this menu.
The venue is conveniently located just south of the Cork's South Ring Road (the N40) on the road that heads out towards Cork Airport. There is ample parking and there is a regular bus service from Cork City Centre.
The evening will be an opportunity to help Travel Bugs and Geocoins on their way, especially if anyone is off to an exotic destination in the near future. If you intend to bring a TB or two, please try to include details of the Bug and its objective in your attendance note, by dropping it into this event cache's inventory prior to attending.
There will also be an area where personal travel bugs/Geocoins can be placed for discovery. Here you will have the opportunity for others to see and discover your trackable, safe in the knowledge that people won't mistakenly take them at the end of the evening to be placed in a cache.
