15: Shotley Gate to Erwarton Circular Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

JapVonKeiller&Poppy: Neither of us has been particular well since we succumbed to the dreaded covid-19 back in February. Now both of us have elements of long-covid.

Henceforth we have found it difficult to maintain many of our caches, and the strong arm of the Geocaching organisation has archived some of our caches despite this. So it is with some regrets, that we are archiving many of our caches to concentrate of some.

Many thanks to those that have found these caches over the years

Geocache Description:

15: Shotley Gate to Erwarton Circular Series. Looking for a small cache- please re-hide well.

This series complements the SEBC series, and will take the cacher through some lovely countryside, with great views of the Rivers Stour and Orwell, the docks at Felixstowe and Harwich, and the little but beautiful Shotley Gate. Toilets are open to 1900 in Shotley Gate. Drinking stops are available both ends of the walk, but more so in Shotley Gate. I would suggest parking on Bristol Hill, which is free, or down by the river side at Shotley Gate. There's a frequent bus service from Ipswich with connections county wide, and with the trains at Ipswich Station. This part of the S&E Border Caches are placed on the beautiful Shotley Peninsular, with the beautiful villages of Woolverstone, Chelmondiston, Freston, Harkstead, Edwarton, Shotley and Shotley Gate. Based between the River Orwell and River Stour we can thoroughly recommend visitng the area. To reach 16 involves a lovely walk along the river front, past the Stour Estuary, classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Across the water can be seen the historic port of Harwich.
