One day while in the Kanto Region, I was exploring the Viridian Forest when I was attacked by an Abra. I used a move on it and then it teleported. Later, Nurse Joy told me the Abras only know the move Teleport until Level 16. I was shocked, but I kept a close eye out for one later.
A Psychic Type Pokemon, it evolves into Kadabra starting at Level 16, which then evolves into Alakazam when traded. It can sense danger by reading minds, which is why it teleported itself to a safe location so quickly when I tried to attack it. And it does so in such a hurry that it creates the illusion of having made copies of itself. By hypnotizing itself, Abra is able to teleport or use any of its other extrasensory abilities at any time. Due to the strain of its telepathic powers, however, Abra sleeps 18 hours each day. If it fails to rest long enough, this 2'11" and 43 pound creature will become unable to use its powers.
