La Cascata delle Marmore è una cascata a flusso controllato, tra le più alte d'Europa, potendo contare su un dislivello complessivo di 165 m, suddiviso in tre salti.
La cache è pensata per farvi vedere le cascate da un altro punto di vista, ovvero dal lato destro del fiume Velino che le forma, al di fuori del parco. Qui non ci sono protezioni di alcun tipo, ma basta avere le medesime accortezze che si hanno su qualunque sentiero di montagna (tra l'altro per raggiungere la cache il sentiero è quasi completamente pianeggiante). Per raggiungere questo belvedere "alternativo" parcheggiate l'auto al waypoint indicato, ovvero il parcheggio del belvedere inferiore, poi si procede per pochi metri lungo la strada verso il parco e si svolta a sinistra su un piccolo ponte (che indica un bacino di pesca sportiva) e una volta superato imboccare immediatamente il sentiero sulla destra. Proseguite poi per il sentiero tracciato fino a GZ, che si trova a pochi metri dalle cascate. Da qui si arriva praticamente a contatto con le cascate e si ha una magnifica vista sul 2° e 3° salto, mentre il primo (quello più alto) si intravede leggermente sporgendosi su un piccolo isolotto a pochi cm dalla riva; per una visuale ottimale si può prendere il sentiero che si arrampica a sinistra appena dopo GZ (qui fate attenzione perchè il terreno è ripido e molto scivoloso, diciamo un 3,5) e si prosegue per la traccia in pratica fino ad arrivare in cima al secondo salto. Se il flusso d'acqua è aperto lo spettacolo sarà maestoso, anche se ovviamente sentirete gli spruzzi d'acqua arrivarvi addosso.
Abbiamo voluto lasciare una cache qui per poter far ammirare anche a voi questa stupenda cascata in maniera più "naturale" possibile, come fosse un normalissimo sentiero di montagna e avendo la possibilità anche di toccare il fiume che la crea.
La cache è di dimensioni small con il solo logbook dentro, portatevi una penna e buona caccia!

The cache is designed to let you see the falls from a different point of view (from the right side of the river Velino) outside of the park. Here there are no protections of any kind, but just get the same precautions that you have on any mountain path (among other things to get to the cache path is almost completely flat ) . If the water flow is opened the show will be majestic , though obviously hear splashing water on him get there .
We wanted to leave a cache here to be able to admire this amazing waterfall you in a more "natural " way as possible, like if it were a normal mountain trail and also having the opportunity to touch the river that creates it.
