"The Feat of the People Is Immortal" – memorial complex in Mogilev, constructed on the place of death camp prisoners-of-war and the soldiers of Red Army.


The Lupolovsky prisoner-of-war camp (No. 813) was created by fascists in August, 1941. The camp was enclosed with a barbed wire on which the electric current was passed. On memoirs of eyewitnesses, in day here died on 250 people. The most part of prisoners contained open-air. Prisoners contained in insanitary conditions, tortured, starved, shot. Fascists applied barbarous ways of people burial: the dead and hardly live displayed stacks on wooden high cages and burned or dumped people in holes with not extinguished lime where they were completely dissolved. Many prisoners were rescued by inhabitants of Mogilev. Citizens came to security men and redeemed prisoners. Underground workers of the city who served camp, took out captured people as if they were dead. During the camp existence 40.000 - 60.000 people were dead, and names are known only 389 of them.

The first monument on a place of Lupolovsky camp of death opened in the 1948th. In 1984, to the 40 anniversary of liberation of Mogilev, the new memorial complex by architect N. Yanchik here was opened.

In 2011, the address about one thousand residents with a request to establish a bow cross of citizens own means on a mass grave of the former concentration camp was discussed on the commission of a historical and cultural heritage of Mogilev . It is consecrated in 2013.

Entrance on the inside memorial territory is open on weekends and holidays.
