This cache has been archived.

FluffyDucklet: Soyuz rolled into the warehouse, Spacesuits dry cleaned and ironed for future use, time to retire from Space Travel.

Many thanks to all who attended one or both events, let's hope Rick gets back to the ISS some day, we need more cake.

Geocache Description:

Rick is heading home on 14th May 2014 after spending 6 months on the ISS. Join us to celebrate his return, well just an excuse for more cake :)

It's 6 months since NASA Astronaut Rick Mastracchio set off to the ISS carrying with him a special TB and he was able to grab the FTF on the ISS Cache.

During his time in space he has performed many tasks, including Space Walks.

Expedition 38/39 - On November 6, 2013, Mastracchio launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to the International Space Station along with Soyuz Commander Mikhail Tyurin of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Flight Engineer Koichi Wakata. Upon reaching the station, they joined Roscosmos cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin, NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg and Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency (ESA), plus Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy and NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins.

Following the success of Cachemology I just had to setup this event for the return.

Meet at the above coordinates a 7:30pm for the usual geochat and group photograph, then you are welcome to join us up the road for a tasty treat or two.

Rick will have travelled over 70 million miles in the 188 days on board the ISS
