Hike-in Cache
Fordyce Falls is a great spot above Lake Spaulding. From Fuller Lake it's about 4.5 miles, but not a lot of elevation change. Even if you only make it partway, you'll enjoy the hike along an easy trail. Several other spots along the way are close to Fordyce Creek, and are worth stopping for a view. Your ears will guide you.
Once at the main falls, you'll find lots of open granite for lunch, lounging, fishing, or even a swim.
Our guide was a black lab named Hannah.
2023 update: The trail has had some work done on it, and is in good shape. Hasn't gotten any easier, though, at least for this old hiker.... Still has lots of up and downs. Be prepared.
