Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are only a possible parking spot. Solve the puzzle below to determine the real cache location.

Five geocachers around the country have solved a difficult geocaching puzzle and are vying for First To Find. Can you figure out which one nabbed the FTF?

  • Each of the geocachers lives in a different City, including Quincy.
  • All five live in different States, the one from California lives in the city which is alphabetically last.
  • In the morning, each cacher stopped at a Diner for Breakfast, the one from Madison stopped at Waffle Barn and ate a Quesadilla.
  • Neither the cacher who ate at Happy Breakfast nor the one who ate a Bagel are from Aberdeen.
  • All five flew on different Airlines, but neither the one from Vermont nor the one who ate Poached Eggs flew on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
  • The cacher from Virginia and the one who had Vanilla Ice Cream for breakfast both flew foreign-based airlines.
  • The cacher who ate the Umami Omelet had an earlier flight than the one from Zamora, the one who flew Virgin America, and the one who ate at Eastside Eatery.
  • The cacher who ate at Ellen's was either the Idaho cacher, the cacher from Vernon, or the one who flew JetBlue Airways.
  • The Washington state cacher ate at Tommy's Kitchen, but did not fly Frontier Airlines.
  • The Aberdeen cacher, the Ellen's patron, and the Umami Omelet eater all did not fly Virgin America.
  • The Zamora cacher and the Poached Eggs eater both did not fly Frontier Airlines.
  • The British Airways flight did not come from Idaho.
  • All five cachers rented Cars when they arrived, the Bagel eater got a Toyota.
  • Five different Rental Car Agencies rented the vehicles, Enterprise gave the Quincy cacher a Yugo.
  • The Aberdeen cacher used a Tompkins Trust Visa Credit Card, but did not get the GMC or Geo.
  • Each of the cachers started at a different Trailhead on the way to the cache. The Virgin America cacher took the King's Trail, while the Quesadilla-eater started on the Wildcat Trail after hopping out of a car from Go Rentals.
  • All the cachers had their own special Tools of the Trade, the cacher driving a Nissan carries a Zero-Gravity Pen.
  • The cacher with the Anodized Mirror found the cache before both the one who started on the Black Canyon Trail and the one who uses a Visa Signature Rewards Bonus credit card.
  • Quick Rent-A-Car was not the agency used by the Wells Fargo Rewards card holder, the Westside Trailhead user, or the Aluminum Ladder owner.
  • The GMC driver found the cache after the Thrifty Rental patron and after the Extendable Grabber owner.
  • The Global Rentals customer used a Valley National Bank credit card.
  • Neither the Geo driver nor the Eastside Trail user are the cacher with the Wachovia Bank credit card.
  • The Westside Trailhead cacher and the Battery-Powered Flashlight user both found the cache before the GMC driver.
  • The Global Rentals customer, the Nissan driver, and the Visa Signature Rewards Bonus cardholder all did not use the Eastside Trail.
  • The Thrifty Rental customer, the Geo driver, and the Zero-Gravity Pen owner all do not have the Visa Signature Rewards Bonus card.
  • The Wells Fargo Rewards cardholder, who has the Battery-Powered Flashlight, found the cache before the Quick Rent-A-Car customer, who did not drive the GMC.
  • The Anodized Mirror user was a customer of Global Rentals, but did not take the King's Trail to the cache.
  • The Yugo driver is not the holder of either the Tompkins Trust Visa or the Visa Signature Rewards Bonus card.
  • The user of the King's Trail found the cache before the owner of the Tompkins Trust Visa.
  • The cacher driving the Nissan grabbed a Voltmeter as a Trade Out Item and left a Yogi Bear Toy as a Trade In Item.
  • Each cacher celebrated the cache find by going to a Restaurant afterward, Joshua celebrated his STF by going to Zuppa and ordering Goulash as an Entree.
  • Stuart, who did not carry the Aluminum Ladder, was the 5th finder and ate Kielbasa at Frere Jacques.
  • Quentin, who did not fly JetBlue, took a Necklace and left a Rainbow Bracelet, but was he the cacher who went to Zorro's for Quiche?
  • Barb, who did not take the Hangman Game, found the cache before the Quesadilla-eater and went to Freshy's Seafood and ordered an Anchor Steam Beer to Drink.
  • Monica, who did not drive the GMC or the Geo, ordered a Red Bull with her Jambalaya.
  • The cacher who took the Ariel Pez Dispenser was not the one who left the Unopened Pack of Baseball Cards or the one who had Crab Cakes for dinner.
  • The cacher who went to Quiet Horse for dinner found the cache before the one who left a Sigitem, as well as before the one who had a Fuzzy Navel with dinner.
  • The cacher who took the German Postcard had an alcoholic drink.
  • The cacher who had a Brandy and the cacher who had an Espresso were neither of the cachers who left the Sheriff's Badge and the Sigitem.
  • The FTF left the Sheriff's Badge.
  • One cacher, who did not drink an Espresso, brought a newly acquired Voltmeter to Frere Jacques.
  • The Fuzzy Navel drinker and the cacher who took the Ariel Pez Dispenser are both not from Quincy.
  • Quentin is not the Espresso drinker.

Special Notes about the 2014 Puzzle Challenge: To be considered for Fastest Solver points, you must verify your solution with certitude. All "point" scoring is arbitrary, subject to change, at the discretion of the cache owner, and probably completely meaningless (unless you just want to be announced sooner at the celebration party, and even that might not happen in the right order). The real challenge is just to see whether you can solve all of these caches by the end of the year. To maintain fairness, hints should not be offered by the cache owner or other solvers until the fifteenth of the month.

Special Notes about this month's cache: Posted coordinates are where I parked when I hid the cache. You may be able to find closer parking if you're willing to pay for it. The container is labeled "Opening Day", but you can ignore that. Yes, I've been trying to create this puzzle for months. Hopefully, it doesn't have too many logical errors. I'm sure somebody will let me know...
