The Cross-Over Cache Series is made for those hikers/cachers that want to do more than make it to the Summits of the KST. They offer better views than the summit caches as they afford a better vantage point of the valleys between the ridge trails. If you should go on a dry day with clear skies, you will be rewarded with spectacular views. So bring your camera!
With that being said, the Cross-Over Caches are inherently more dangerous and should only be attempted by experiences hikers. You are under no obligation to go after these caches. Know you're own limits.
Micro-spikes and gloves are recommended. Rain gear is also good to have. Always hike with a friend (enemies not recommended) and always tell someone (not hiking with you) your plans and estimated time of return.
