Geocache Description:

Croxley Green Windmill was built c1860. The mill was last used to grind wheat in 1899 . in the 1930s the mill was used as a chicken house and pigeon loft. During the Second World War it was used as an air raid precautionsobservation post, with an air raid siren mounted on the tower. The mill was converted to residential accommodation in the 1960s

The cache container fits nicely with the history of the Mill.. away from anyone house but dont hang about too long as the neighbours are a nosey lot!!

The cache container is rusty but it still opens... If you continue down the to end of the road/dead end, there is a footpath, then turn right... some more houses and turn right again it brings you to the back of the windmill house for you to appreciate it properly.
