The cache is located along the Mahai River path which winds its' way up to cascades and then on further up the Mahai Valley. Below the cache you can see a long slow running pool which was the weir built to source water for the trout hatchery nearby which was removed many years ago and is now an education center.
If you are planning to tackle a hike, always remember to fill in the hiking register, which is used in case of emergency and also to monitor which paths require maintenance priority.
