Geocache Description:

Madeley to Keele

This is a series of caches from Madeley to Keele (or vice versa) along public footpaths, bridleways and roads.  It can make a circular combining other caches along the A525 and Station Road in Keele.

The route crosses fields and can get muddy depending on weather conditions, so suitable footwear is recommended.   Most of the route is dog friendly, though some stiles require dogs to jump rather than go round.

If you don't wish to walk it all in one go the number 85 bus runs between Keele and Madeley.

***

If you look toward the M6 from the cache you will see a big glacial valley.  This is the site where Madeley Glacial Lake was once located. The lake was formed from the glacial meltwater which was collected on the back of an ice dam. When the M6 was built, the designers took advantage of the valley that the glaciers cut through the landscape.
