Geocache Description:

A Walk On The Wild Side - Mrs Tiggy-Winkle

This is a series of caches placed in Plean Country Park and they are all child friendly. All the containers have plenty of room for swaps and trackables.

Admission is free to this large country park, which is full of flowering meadows, ponds, streams and woodland walks.

The park is home to the ruins of Plean House, a sweeping late 18th century mansion. A classical country house, it was built by William Simpson, a rich East India trader. It now lies in ruins after a fire destroyed most of the structure in 1970.

The rich plant life in Plean Country Park means many animals and birds can be found within its boundaries. Look out for green woodpeckers, jays, squirrels and even the occasional roe deer that sometimes can be found grazing in the fields.

If you are an avid walker, three trails (all of differing distances) cut through the park, starting from the car park. Other activities on offer include an orienteering course, horse trail and picnic areas.

Many beautiful trees also dot the park, including birch, oak and Scot’s Pine trees

Please see this link provided for more information on the counrty park and any up comming events etc.

PERMISSION HAS KINDLY BEEN GIVEN BY STIRLING COUNCIL
