A cache and dash on the old road between Largs and greenock.
Easy cache'n'dash on a beautiful wee road between Largs and Greenock.
Lots of cyclists use it, especially at weekends, and it's a popular drive in the country. Single track with passing places and plenty of places to pull off without being in the way. It is also a great place to start walks into the hills.
It is is not a good road in any snow!!
When I was a kid this was a white gate so we called it the third white gate.
This was where you came for a cycle ride and then a walk in the hills. This was far, this was a really far, a long way from home. You were really puffed by the time you got here. The beauty was that it was all downhill home from here and, as there were never many cars on the road, you could be reckless!!
Plenty of space to pull in. In fact you don't need a GPS!
