Geocache Description:

Continuing my Country Feelings Caches with the little town of Loretto!  Cache will take you to four waypoints in town to help you learn about a little more about Loretto's past, as well as it's beauty!  These waypoints will give you coordinates of a final waypoint is just outside of town and favorite place when I was a kid.  Who would of thought to see that on a hill in the country?

This is a puzzle cache! You will need to collect answers from the Waypoints to find the final cache!

The above coordinates are the first Waypoint, as well as parking for Waypoint #2 & #3!  Be careful of parking on Sunday church going on, but usually plenty of parking!

Waypoint #1  ( Sign near parking)

   N 40° 30.161   W078° 37.871

Take a minute to check out beautiful Basilica of St Michael's across the street!

What year was Loretto established as McGuire Settlement?

AB = Add all four digits together to get AB

Waypoint #2  (Only a few feet away on plaque)

   N 40° 30.169   W 078° 37.888

C = What month was Rev. Demetrius Gallitzin was ordained? (Change to a number)

D = What year was this memorial erected 19D6

Waypoint #3   (Short walk down new sidewalk)

   N 40° 30.206  W 078° 37.921

This new memorial was recently finished and dedicated to our Veterans!  Please be respectful!  Thank you to Loretto American Legion for this beautiful Memorial!

There may be closer parking available but please park at W#1 and walk short distance cause the parking lot is private and they hold alot of events/functions there!

E = How many pillars are erected here to honor our veterans?

F = On pillars how many Eagles are engraved on them total?

Waypoint #4  (Short drive across town)

   N 40° 30.569   W 078° 38.367

Cannot access these gardens at night!  Please take time to look around and enjoy these beautiful gardens!

Coordinates take you just outside the gates just in case they are locked or there is a wedding/service going on.  There is not a lot of functions held in the gardens anymore but just in case you can still complete this cache.

Sign is for the Shrines Sunken Gardens at _______________ _______________.

G = Add letters in two words and then subtract 3

Final Cache is Medium Lock Container just outside town!  To find cache fill in coordinates below:

  N 40° F1.1AB

  W 078° CG.0ED

At final cache, please be careful pulling off and onto road! There is plenty of room to pull off!  May seem like a back country road, but a lot of traffic coming and going!

Do NOT block brown gate!  Do NOT trepass past gate onto the private property! I was given permission for cache as long as cachers stay off the property above the cache and the gate!

Please enjoy this final stage and take time to take in the beautiful view of the countryside!
