Idaho Cemetery is located in the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 17 in Grant Township, Hardin County, Iowa. It is the only known cemetery in Grand Township.
In 1878, an acre of ground was purcchased of Z.L. MARTIN for this cemetery, and the first interment was August 6, 1879, though the sign at the cemetery entrance dates to 1876.
The town of Idaho had approximately two dozen buildings when the railroad came through Tipton Township soon after 1880. It was then that the town of Hubbard sprang up along the railroad and the buildings from Idaho were moved to Hubbard. A post office was established on section 17 of Grant township in 1876 called Idaho and it was discontinued in 1880. This cemetery was abandoned when the town of Idaho was discontinued.
Only a few stones remain.
