Make this weekend what you want here. The Michigan Bow Hunters Association (MBH) has invited geocachers to join them this weekend. I am a member of MBH and also of MiGO and am an active geocacher.
MBH would like to see some crossover activities and would like to offer some geocaching fun to those attending the Rendezvous. I am hoping to have a Geocaching 101 class. I will have a couple Geocaching games to play (much like NurseNanna's Winter Olympics) and there will be some new geocaches placed for the event. We would like to see families come out to share in the weekend.
There is weekend camping available here for $15/night with hook ups and plenty of space. And you can set up on Friday. There will be a BIG potluck on Saturday night that the members of MBH would like you to participate in. There is always lots of good home-cooked food there, some of it cooked in dutch ovens.
And if you are also a bowhunter or archery shooter, bring your bows because there is a 30 target 3D course and some novelty targets. Shoot fees are $8 adults, $6 youth, $25 family.
Here is the low down:
- Actual Geocaching Event is FREE and is from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 12
YOU ARE INVITED TO HANG AROUND AND ENJOY THE FOLLOWING:
- Weekend fun with campfires, smores, maybe some guitar playing.
- Some new caches to find in the area
- Fun games with fellow geocachers and probably some bowhunters (like nelomo and Budman59 and Thunderflight)
- BIG Potluck supper on Saturday night
Help us make this a successful crossover combination event. If you have any questions or have some suggestions for activities during the event, or would like to help out, feel free to email me at geocacher.nelomo@gmail.com
