Cheese, Please! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Farmer's Daughters: We came here prepared to do the required maintenance on Cheese, Please!, finally, but we were unable to replace its wet log, because we couldn't find it! A previous cacher had stated that they had moved it to a new location, because its previous spot was too dangerous, but didn't explain what the issue was...We checked its proper location first, and then all around the tree, but couldn't find it anywhere. Was it muggled? Is it still there but really hiding? Is it in a totally different new spot? We don't know, but we are saying a sad goodbye to this cache today.

Geocache Description:

This cache celebrates the creation of the new cheese-themed playgound, located in Centennial Park. This playground was built by volunteers in just three days, July 4 to 6, 2014. If you are caching with children, you will want to allow a few extra minutes for them to play on the popular playground equipment.

Why cheese? The first cheese factory in Upper Canada was opened in Ingersoll in 1840 by James Harris. In 1866, Mr. Harris participated n the creation of a 'mammoth cheese', to promote the local cheese and dairy industries. This big cheese used 35 tons of milk and weighed 7,300 lbs. It was featured at the State Fair in Saratoga, New York that year, and was later shipped across the Atlantic Ocean and shown around England and Europe. There is no room for SWAG in this one. Please bring your own pen.
