Geocache Description:

A micro cache located in Blake Street Nature Park off Blake Street which, it has been claimed, is the steepest road in the old City of Sheffield (and one of the steepest in the Metropolitan Borough of Sheffield).

Blake Street Nature Park is an area of land which has been cultivated by local volunteers as a small but lovely natural haven. The area has a butterfly garden, with wild flowers to attract butterflies, a wooded area, blackberry bushes and a few fruit trees. Blake Street has been described as the steepest street in the old City of Sheffield (which is saying something in a city of so many hills) and one of the steepest in what is now the Metropolitan Borough of Sheffield. The top of the street could be seen in the 1997 comedy film 'The Full Monty' as a couple of scenes were filmed in Ruskin Park across the road.

Stop press: In a report published on 19th March 2017, the BBC named Blake Street the third steepest residential road in the country! You can read the report here.

The cache container is a camouflaged replacement of the original. Please replace as found. Happy caching!
