Squak Saved! Traditional Cache

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of private citizens, King County Parks, and the Trust for Public Lands, 226 acres of wild land that was slated to be clear-cut and then developed into houses was saved in 2013!  This cache will introduce you to this lovely area.

The new acreage has been added to existing public lands and creates a 730-acre Cougar/Squak Corridor Park that protects the headwaters of a salmon-bearing stream, and features deep forests, hiking trails and more. The newly constructed 2.8 mile Margaret's Way Trail leads up about 1,000 feet to hook into the Chybinski trail near the Perimeter and West Peak Trail junction. The cache is located about half-way up!

This cache is in a truly stunning location, with a new bench and incredible viewpoint, near the cache! The County just acquired this area - enjoy!

After you find the cache, continue on up the trail for a ways, and enjoy more of this wonderful new parkland! The parking is located at 10610 Renton Issaquah Rd. SE, Issaquah.

DI NOT ATTEMPT TO ACCESS FROM HIGH VALLEY AREA! I can say from experience, that there are No Trespassing signs and a vigilant caretaker!
