It was obviously set up for horses as you could see the little step stool and the hitching post nearby. But it was surrounded by big Oaks and Pines and made for a nice place to rest. I say "hooves" not only because of the horses, but the pigs obviously liked this place as well. Had to cross through a pretty big overturned area to find the perfect tree to place our cache.
There were actually so many places to choose from. I found what I thought was a lone Cypress just around the bend. Turns out I saw another one, although much smaller near the trail that had a perfect hidey hole.
I also saw this amazing oak that looked like it was being held behind bars (pine trees.) But it was at this point that I started to not feel well and with storms on their way, I left the cache where it was for now.
I hope you enjoy this stop and your adventures on the West Loop Trail. If you make it back this far...I hope you find it worth the journey!
I look forward to reading about your adventures!
